Ensure that safety, health and environmental issues are taken into consideration in all activities of the
purchasing function / liaise with HSEQ coordinator and users.
Forecasting and Planning after meeting user departments on their yearly approved budgets.
Ensure goods and services are of the right quality and quantity and procured at the best economic cost
to the company by liaising with key users and management
Identify and develop reliable alternative sources of supplies and maintain good relationship with
Promote adherence to company’s Ethical Code of Conduct and gift policy.
Participate in all Contract Negotiations pertaining to purchasing with the respective buyer and user.
Serve as secretary to the Tender Committee
Assist in Post-Budgetary implementation & Asset Disposal process
Co-ordinate all foreign purchases of parts & equipment in conjunction with Operations Department and
Perform periodic evaluation of suppliers’ performance with user department and grade them for future
Carry out continuous improvement in purchasing function through internal customer surveys, evaluation
and market survey statistics in the department.
Enhance implementation of new policies and software (i.e. Template Light etc.)
All functions as outlined above and any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
First Degree in Business Administration or Finance or equivalent;
Prior experience in a similar capacity an asset;
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
Working knowledge of informationsystems, especially SAP or similar tools.
